i’ve been watching a lot of baywatch recently. there’s a channel on cable tv that plays it all day long. there is something so refreshing about the simplicity of its intention - it’s just extremely attractive men and women actively saving lives and responding to the dramas of life as an extremely attractive person. mitch is always there to give you a hug or a kiss when you need it.
one night, i watched the movie gigli because i wanted to see how much natural chemistry ben affleck and jennifer lopez had when they first met. in it, justin bartha’s character is obsessed with baywatch. it’s his one dream to “go to the baywatch.” it’s cute the way he think it’s a location to go to instead of a show filmed in malibu. anyway, in the final scene of the movie, by chance, the three of them - ben, jen and justin - end up on the pch and run into the set of baywatch. justin walks down and into the scene their filming. dream fulfilled.
